M&MR likes to pride itself that we think outside the box. To that end, we offer team building activities with a difference...

Lights, Camera, Action
This activity is played in teams, each producing a short film based on a theme they are given at the start of the day. It could be  ‘Western’, ‘Horror’, ‘Austin Powers’ or ‘Pirate’. Your team will be guided through the basics of ‘screenplay’, ‘storyboards’, and ‘special effects’. At the end of the day we show the films as a grand finale, or you may have your own evening ‘Oscars Ceremony’.

Musicality
Can your team become the most successful music theatre
production company by putting on and performing the best possible ‘showstoppers’ from scratch? Learn the music, steps and acting
and make your own costumes. A professional music director and choreographer will teach you the music and dance routines,
and once everything is in place, the group is filmed as they perform their big number.

Out of This World
This is a totally unique and bespoke event developed by M&MR to be run at the National Space Centre at Leicester. The venue is a fascinating ‘hands-on experience’ devoted to space science and astronomy, and was yet again voted Large Visitor Attraction of the Year last year for the 3rd year running.

“Out Of This World” consists of a collection of challenges facing the group during their day at the National Space Centre, each of which will require different skills and individuals to come to the fore. Some of the challenges include:

• Redesigning team members as “Aliens” using the Space Centre’s specialist booth
• Successfully landing a lunar module using a simulator
• Re-enact scenes from Star Trek & Star Wars with real Imperial Stormtroopers!
• Taking a simulated ride to Jupiter in the adrenalin-inducing Spaceflight Induction Module
• Driving a radio controlled Moon Buggy around a specialist course
• Demonstrate the effects of zero gravity as you “moon walk”

A Hard Day’s Knight
A great themed team activity, as we challenge each “band of brothers” to earn more “groats” than the rest by competing in a multi-activity afternoon with a medieval flavour.

As the pennants flutter & flags fly, we start by inviting the guests to create their own team banner. Captains are armed with (plastic) swords to lead their team, whose specially-created war cry will encourage their endeavours… Each band then participates in a series of of 4 – 6 selected “Medieval” themed fun activities, including skill at arms (learn to duel), falconry, knock your block off, popinjay (medieval archery) and many more culminating in a head-to-head Grand Finale between all teams.

“Back In The Old West”
Take your “pardner” by the hand as you reel your way through an activity day of good, bad and ugly proportions! It’s the turn of the century on the American Western frontier. The Wild West is a place of few laws but the local sheriff is endeavouring to maintain order. Today, however, is your chance for some fun. Spirits are running high as rumours have spread that Klondike Jake has struck gold in ‘them thar hills!’

The programme is based around a series of “Wild West” themed fun activities including rodeo bull, rifle shooting and knife throwing to name a few, culminating in a head-to-head Grand Finale between all teams.

Boot Camp
“Right, you ‘orrible little lot, look lively! You’re in the Army now!”

Once briefed, guests will be issued with their clothing: they will be given 5 minutes to “gear up” then will be escorted out to the “parade ground” for a very entertaining icebreaker as they are put through their paces in basic military “square-bashing” and the opportunity for bonus points!

A series of military “Practical Leadership Exercises” (PLX) and a finale make up the “Boot Camp” – all of these are based on real military training and ALL are hilarious fun. We can intersperse the PLX exercises with other war themed activities including cyber tag, 4 x 4 driving, mortar firing, segway assault vehicles and laser shooting! They all provide adrenalin-inducing, unique opportunities to participate in team-oriented activities.
